Chris Benoit was born may 21st 1967, and died June 24th 2007. He was a professional wrestler from Canada who held two world championships with WCW and WWE.
Chris Benoit was widely regarded as one of the more well respected and technical wrestlers to ever step into the ring. As young man, Chris spent most of his time in Edmonton , Alberta as well as being introduced as being from there during each introduction before every match. He was born in Montreal Quebec.
Some of his most famous matches occurred between 2000-2007 during which he of course became a two time world champion. His first WWF title was won at Wrestlemania 2000 when during a triple threat match he pinned Chris Jericho and won Kurt Angle’s Intercontinental Championship. Benoit and Jericho were notorious Rivals during that period and ended up meeting up 4 separate times for Pay Per View events. Passing the titles back and fourth until Chris Jericho completely secured it after their fourth meeting at the Royal Rumble.

In 2004 after winning a qualifying match for Royal Rumble and won by defeating and eliminating Wrestler “Big Show” he gained his shot at the Wrestlemainia XX title. Benoit then on March 14th forced Triple H during Benoit’s signature submission to Tap out, thus earning him title as World heavyweight Champion. That match also had gone down in history as the first time a main Wrestlemania event ended in a submission. Later on August 15th of that year Randy Orton took the title from Benoit during the world championship match at Summer Slam.
Tragically on June 25th 2007 police arrived at the home of Chris Benoit, after he had reportedly missed a number of appointments pertaining to welfare checks. The police found the three bodies of his seven year old son, Daniel, his wife Nancy, and Benoit. It was determined that Benoit had murdered both of them and then hung himself in a double murder suicide. Nancy and Daniel were both strangled and toxicology reports found drugs in both of their systems as well. Nancy Benoit was bound and gagged before her murder. It is believed Benoit also drugged Daniel before strangling him. Benoit himself was found dead hanging himself from his weight machine, an apparent suicide.

Benoit’s father later told reporters he believed his son’s had been damaged by repeated head traumas over the course of his wrestling career, and that this accounted for this final act of insanity ending in the tragic incident.
